Entry 11: Final Blog Reflection

The first day of class we were introduced to becoming a blogger and author. My first thoughts about this idea about blogging in a English 102 class was great. I was very excited for something different and new. Every English class is different but most are very similar. The idea that students create a blog and 50% of it is self generated topics was a wonderful idea. I enjoyed writing every single entry. My favorite was the self generated blogs. These were my favorite because it was a way I could express my personal opinion and share what interests me. Along with the self generated topics we has great topics that were instructed to us. All of them we were able to express in our own ways. No ones blog was at all similar. The topics may have been, but the views were all slightly different along with the content.

Blogging was completely new to me. I went in with a positive attitude and for now I am leaving with a positive attitude as well. At first I struggled with the simple aspects of a blog such as the layout, theme, blog entries, and keeping a consistent blog in general. I think with blogging it is a great way to express a person's personality and character. I defiantly took this blog seriously. Not only was it for a grade but it was a part of social media I was not familiar with. I love learning about new ways to express yourself and this was a great one!

As I said previously, a benefit of blogging would be the power to express yourself. I think a wonderful thing about blogging is you can create any type of blog you wish. Also, blogging can be a great hobby. Some people may keep a journal while others like to blog. The fun and beneficial aspect about blogging is, everyone who blogs is a published author. I never looked at bloggers that way, but really when you think about it, bloggers are indeed published authors.

Something I found to be the most challenging thing about blogging was being able to write freely. What I mean by that is because it was a casual professional blog it was a challenge to be allowed to write in slang or basically any way we wish. Why was it hard for me? It was a challenge because this blog is for a English 102 class. You do not typically think of writing casually in a English 102 blog so writing slang did not happen often for me at all. I was scared to be that free. Whatever I did I did well.

What I learned about blogging for class was it is not easy. Nothing about blogging was easy. From choosing a theme, layout, and topics it was all a challenge at some point. I was very indecisive about what I wanted my blog to appear as. Since it was a casual professional blog I wanted to express my personality. The color pink was definetley me. It is my favorite color and expresses my girly side. The first entry expressed my love and desire to work and care for animals, that also was me expressing myself. I learned that everyone is different and not everyones blog is the same. some people may agree with my posts and others may disagree. Same thing goes for me. But a blog is like a personal journal in my opinion.

I learned that while being a blogging student you can have fun and enjoy it! I think blogging is a useful tool. Not only for personal use but also business. I came across many different blogs this semester. Some that stuck out to me were business use blogs and non profit organizations. I Think blogging is a great tool for different. organizations and businesses to use and its free!

All in all, blogging this semester was lots of fun. Im saying goodbye for now but who knows if and when I will be back.

Choosing The Right Habitat For Your Russian Tortoise

Many people have pets such as dogs, cats, fish, ferrets, etc. but did you know Russian tortoises make great pets as well? The Russian tortoise is one of the smallest species of tortoises ever! Their size ranged from 5-10 inches, depending on gender. Males tend to be smaller then females. This makes them great pets in many ways. They are small! A small tortoise, such as the Russian tortoise can be housed indoors or outdoors depending on the climate you live in and they make great pets! Indoor Enclosure Depending on what kind of climate you live in, indoor enclosures may be the choice for you. The bigger the terrarium  is the better.  If you decide to keep your Russian tortoise indoors keep in mind the temperature should be in the range of 68 to 80 degrees. Indoor enclosures should consist of a substrate. Many people like using a combination of soil and mulch. You can also purchase a substrate at your local pet store, but if your looking to keep costs at a minimum plain old...

BLOGS, BLOGS, AND MORE BLOGS! What do you think?

People are always wanting to become a "Bloggers", whether it be personal or professional. It can be interesting how people compose their blogs. Some look so engaging while others do not. Since I'm giving this " blog life" a shot I decided I would do some research of my own. I came across a few blogs. Some I enjoyed and really admire, while others not so much. I like to start off with the negative and the blogs I didn't enjoy as much and then ending on a good note.  The first blog I came across was: All the Xbox One Indie, Third-Party and First-Party Launch Titles by Matt Peckham The moment I opened this blog I knew I did not like it before even reading the post and what it is about. The layout to me looked more like a article then blog. I do understand that this is a professional blog, but in my eyes it looks like a advertisement more so.  As I read through the article and learned a little about the Xbox, I felt like it left me hanging. Maybe the author...
